I remember the movie Bambi from my childhood probably more than any other. I’m not so sure it was with fondness either. However, it did make such an impact on me. Hearing the gunshot ring out and knowing that Bambi was alone in the forest to care for himself was so hard for me as a child. Now many years later as a mother, the loss of Bambi’s mother has a whole new meaning.
I now see the movie as one that teaches about an inner strength we all have to make it. Despite the fact that Bambi losses his mother, he stays strong and grows into an amazing young buck. He doesn’t do it alone of course, he makes friends and relies upon them along the way. It’s truly a story of love, friendship and perseverance that was first introduced in 1942.
Bambi is now a part of the Walt Disney Signature Collection for 2017. Celebrating it’s 75th year, Bambi is currently available in stores and ready to add to your collection.
