One of the best things about living in Colorado is all of the outdoor activities that are available no matter what the season. Being born and raised in Texas, let’s just say that skiing is not my best sport. However, at least two or three times a year, I like to head up to the mountains and give it a go. Since my little ones are Colorado natives, I want them to have the opportunity to hold their own on the slopes. This past weekend we decided to make the trip to Arapahoe Basin in Keystone, CO.
Okay, let me just say that the beauty of the mountains never gets old. The two hour drive is actually one that I look forward to. (Minus the traffic, of course!) Upon arriving at A-Basin, it was just what you would expect of a beautiful Colorado day. There were blue skies, snow and lots of people all looking for an exciting day on the slopes.
When you are a skier like me, it’s important to be able to stay connected at all times to your family. That’s one of the reasons we decided on A-Basin for this family outing. We have AT&T and they are the only wireless provider with coverage at A-Basin. Not once did I have to worry about losing touch with my children or husband even though they can all ski circles around me.
That reminds me of a time that I vacationed in Colorado. I was a teenager, probably 16 or so. We were skiing and my dad fell and hurt himself. He told me to ski down and get help for him. I am still not sure what he was thinking sending me as his rescue crew. About 10 ft away from him, I fell and had to scoot the rest of the way down the mountain on my butt. I was still scooting along as the ski patrol came flying past me with my dad on a rescue sled. All I could do was wave and smile. Too bad we didn’t have cell phone coverage back in those days. Maybe I would have been able to actually do something.
The other awesome thing about having AT&T coverage at A-Basin is that I was able to use my UE Roll 2 waterproof speaker. With nonstop coverage I was able to connect through Bluetooth and jam to my favorite tunes all day long. Even with as much time as I spent falling in the snow, it wasn’t a problem. Remember, since the UE Roll 2 is waterproof I never had to be concerned!
All I can say is “thank you” AT&T for making my day fun and worry-free! Time to start planning my next trip to the mountains.
