I remember sitting in a theater with my nephew for his first movie ever on the big screen. That movie was Finding Nemo and it quickly became one of my favorite all time animated films. He was my first and only nephew at that time. I remember being so amused as I watched him eat popcorn and candy, taken in thoroughly by the magic of Disney.
Now 13 years later I got to sit in theaters again with the same nephew, his 3 year old brother and my own children to watch Finding Dory. What a special treat for me!
Finding Dory was definitely worth the wait. I love that they begin the movie filling us in on Dory’s background and tying into Finding Nemo. By doing this the movie flows so nicely and immediately reminds us of our love for the characters in the original.
Sometimes you wonder if a sequel can ever be as good as an original movie, but I can honestly say that Finding Dory does not disappoint. Marlin, Nemo and Dory are as witty and enjoyable to watch as ever, while the new characters have you falling in love with what they bring to the big screen.
Disney•Pixar’s “Finding Dory” finds Dory living happily in the reef with Marlin and Nemo about a year after their life-changing adventure. When Dory suddenly remembers that she has a family out there who may be looking for her, she recruits Marlin and Nemo for a life-changing adventure across the ocean to California’s prestigious Marine Life Institute (MLI), a rehabilitation center and aquarium.
When it comes to Disney•Pixar’s “Finding Dory” I say, “Just go see it, Just go see it, Just go see it, see it, see it!” (To the tune of just keep swimming of course:)
Let me know your thoughts! As good as the original, better or not so much? Would love to hear what you think.
