I participated in an Ambassador Program on behalf of Influence Central for Virgin Mobile USA which is one of Sprints prepaid brands. I received two Virgin Mobile smartphones to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
Most families have someone that is lovingly referred to as a data hog. In my family that person is usually me. Yep, I own it! However in my defense what I do for a living requires me to use quite a bit of data. I might also have a slight obsession with an app that involves killing pigs.
I know it won’t be long before I am fighting for my title of data hog, because I have two children that take after their mama. They are too young still to own their own phones, but they are constantly using mine or their dads to watch videos for Minecraft tutorials, play apps or watch movies. Yes, I can see my future and it scares me.
That’s why I am very excited about “Data Done Right” found exclusively at Walmart by Virgin Mobile. Virgin Mobile is part of the Sprint Nationwide Network, but requires no contract and no additional monthly line fees. Perfect for someone like me that will eventually need 4 phones to keep us all connected and I guess in some ways, less connected.
There are a couple of things that I really love about the Virgin Mobile Data Done Right Multi-line Data Sharing Plans found at Walmart. The first is the ability to divvy up the data. I am learning that getting kids to do chores or anything else for that matter can be a challenge. But when they have something that motivates them, it can be a whole different story.
We have set up a chore chart that allows the kids to work for the data they want to use. They need data and I need help cleaning the house and taking care of our pets, so it’s a perfect win-win situation. We have this hanging on the refrigerator and when they help out, we assign them data for the month. I can assign the data at any time by using the Virgin Mobile app that is pre-loaded on all phones. It’s a great way to teach the kids responsibility starting at a young age and make them feel appreciated for their hard work.
For those of you that have teenagers using excessive data on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or music apps like Pandora, Virgin Mobile has a great option. For only $5 dollars a month you can have unlimited usage (per social media of your choice) without counting against your data allotment. This is another great way to encourage your kids to do good deeds, chores or homework. Let’s face it, it’s a lot less expensive for us as well since it provides unlimited usage with no fear of unexpected overages.
