When planning any vacation, finding just the right place to lay your head at the end of the day is a big part of the trip. There are always so many choices available, so taking the time to do a little research and find the best fit for your family is definitely worth the time.
My son and I just got back from a mother/son trip to Branson, Missouri where we stayed at the Welks Resort Branson. While we were not the ones that personally chose our hotel accommodations for this trip, whoever did, definitely did their homework.
The Welks Resort Branson is located in the beautiful Ozarks of Missouri within a short distance of many activities Branson offers. It is a perfect destination for families, as it includes something for everyone, including their Splash-A-Torium with 117 feet water slide and free miniature golf course.
Newly Upgraded Hotel
In 2013, a multimillion dollar renovation was completed on the Welks Resort. The renovations included each of the 159 hotel rooms and baths, as well as other areas within the hotel. As you walk into the beautifully designed lobby, it is clear that they take pride in the work that has been put into their establishment.
According to an article on the ExploreBranson.com website, a few of the new featured items include granite vanities, a work space with an ergonomic desk chair, wall-mounted AC controls, desk lamps with easy reach dual outlets, mini-fridge, Welk Signature Ecology bath amenities, Seattle’s Best single cup coffee system and Starbucks’ Tazo Teas.
I am not sure if the bed in our room was part of the upgrades to the hotel, but it was definitely a favorite for my son and I. Since we weren’t in our room much during the day, knowing we were coming back to sleep in a comfortable bed was wonderful.
Feeling hungry? The Welks Resort Branson has got you covered whether you prefer eating out or dining in. They have a wonderful restaurant on site called, Stage Door.
The Stage Door Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, serving a variety of family favorites at affordable pricing. During breakfast hours enjoy an amazing buffet that has something everyone will be happy with. We enjoyed fresh waffles, pancakes, bacon, sausage, eggs and so much more. You are guaranteed not to walk away hungry.
If you enjoy a night of ordering in after a day out on the town, Stage Door Restaurant has a great room service menu. Choose from salads, sandwiches, entrees (after 4pm) and of course, kids meals (priced at $4.95). They do stop serving after 8pm, so be sure to keep that in mind.
The Welks Resort Branson, as I mentioned above, is surrounded by the beautiful Ozarks. I tried to describe to my husband about the color of the trees when we arrived, but it’s hard to do. The shade of this color green is one that can only be described as unbelievable.
The resort is closely located to two different area lakes, Lake Taneycomo and Table Rock Lake. While we were visiting, my son and I were able to kayak on Table Rock Lake with Kayak Branson. It is a beautiful lake that has 800 miles of shoreline, perfect for anyone who loves boating or fishing.
While you are staying at the Welks Resort, you are also in close proximity to the very popular Silver Dollar City and Showboat Branson Belle. Silver Dollar City is great for any of you thrill seekers out there, as they are home to Outlaw Run, voted “Best New Ride for 2013 Worldwide”.
Of course, you can easily navigate to any of the hundreds of shows and activities in Branson, Missouri from the Welks Resort Branson. If you have any questions in regards to booking shows during your stay, stop by the concierge desk. They are very knowledgeable and happy to help with any of your needs.
Last but not least, when making your reservations, ask about the Welks Resort Splash-A-Torium.
The Splash-A-Torium is located across from the guest registration area. Complete with an indoor/outdoor pool, two hot tubs, kids splash area and 117′ slide, it is perfect for all ages.
On a hot day there is nothing better than heading over to cool off in the hotel pool. The Welks Resort made sure to create a relaxing environment that includes fun activities throughout the day.
Have a snack delivered poolside as you watch the kiddos play. Or purchase a snow cone served inside the pool area. It’s a great part of the vacation experience, so enjoy!
Open from 10am-10pm depending on weather.
So are you ready to begin planning your vacation to Branson, Missouri? If so, be sure to call the Welks Resort and make your reservations ahead of time. You will love all they have to offer you and/or your family.
