How important is it for you to be the cool parent? For Jake Buckman, who is trying to connect with with his 16 year old son, it’s very important. Unfortunately, his gesture to earn some points with Ryan leads to an unforeseen diaster. The book, Keep Quiet by Lisa Scottoline definitely has parents thinking just how far they would go to protect their child.
Ryan is a young kid with a promising basketball future, until several mistakes begin to erase any hope of the future he once dreamed of. One by one, lies from him and those around him begin to unravel dark secrets from the present and past. Will he and his family be able to put back the pieces of their lives? Or is there just too much deceit and dishonesty to survive the tragic events unfolding around them?
Lisa Scottoline has written another great book that keeps you guessing until the end. I love her writing style, because she writes in real voice, unafraid to let those in her books experience the worst. Things don’t always turn out as they seem, which makes it hard to put her books down. I listened to this on audiobook CD and finished it in two days.
This book helped remind me that sometimes doing the right thing is the hardest thing of all, but it is also what will set you free.
Check out Lisa Scottoline’s newest book, Keep Quiet, in stores now. It is a great read that will surprise you until the end. I promise you won’t be able to “keep quiet” about it once you finish reading it.
I received a copy of Keep Quiet by Lisa Scottoline for review. I received no other form of compensation.
