Creating recipes excites me. It is one of the things I look forward to each week when putting together my families menu. That’s why I love when a company comes out with something new that I can incorporate into our meals.
Fleischmann’s Simply Homemade Baking Mixes has just recently introduced Pretzel Creations. Pretzel Creations gives me the ability to make fresh, made at home pretzels in less than hour.
I doubt that I am the only one that has noticed how pretzels are becoming quite the rage lately. It seems like every restaurant is incorporating pretzels onto their menu in one way or another. Now it’s on my families menu as well.
When I was asked to come up with a recipe using Pretzel Creations, I tried to think of something unique. I came up with several different ideas, but there was one that seemed like it would be perfect for my family. I am calling it Pretzel Ham & Swiss Roll.
I had never used Pretzel Creations before, so I wasn’t sure how it would turn out, however, it was really good! Definitely one I will be making for future meals.
I am providing the recipe in case any of you guys would like to try it. Let me know if you end up creating something delicious using Pretzel Creations that I can try.
Pretzel Ham & Swiss Roll
1 Box of Pretzel Creations
1 pound of shaved ham
1 package of Swiss cheese
1 tablespoon of butter
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Make the Pretzel Creations as instructed on the box. Once the dough has been mixed, let it rise for 25 minutes in the bowl.
Remove the pretzel dough from the bowl and roll out on lightly floured cutting board. Roll out thin, but not too thin. Melt the tablespoon of butter and brush the pretzel dough.
Next, lay the ham on the dough, followed by the Swiss cheese. After all the ham and cheese has been placed on the pretzel dough, begin to roll the dough up on one end. When the dough has been rolled, brush the top with butter before placing in the oven on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Sprinkle the top with shredded Swiss cheese. (optional) Bake for 10 minutes and then check the progress. Continue to bake for an additional 10 minutes (checking as you go) before pulling from the oven.
Let cool and then sprinkle with the powdered sugar. Serve with grape jelly and raspberry jam.
This recipe was extremely easy and absolutely delicious. Give it a try and let me know what you think……
