Protect-A-Bed AllerZip Smooth Mattress Encasement Review and Giveaway

Most people are familiar with the term “family bed”, but our family takes the term to a whole new extreme.  Not only do me, my husband and two children sleep in our bed, so do four of our five dogs.  On occasion, we will even have a visit from one or two of our cats.   Lets just say we have a full house every night.

I have people ask me all the time if we are crazy and sometimes I think we might be.  The truth is I wouldn’t want things any other way.  The only thing I ever have concerns about are the cleanliness aspects of having my animals in the bed with all of us.

While I think of my furbabies as part of our family, I also understand that they track a lot of dirt and dander on their bodies that can get into our mattress.  In addition to that, there have been times that our animals have had accidents that could potentially ruin a mattress.  We don’t have the money to replace expensive mattresses, besides the fact, it is just unsanitary.

Protect-A-Bed Mattress Protector

That is why protecting our mattress is such a high priority in our home.  I was recently sent a product from Protect-A-Bed called the AllerZip® Smooth Mattress Encasement.  This particular mattress protector encloses around your mattress providing it with complete protection from dust mites, dander and stains.  It is perfect for anyone who loves to get doggie snuggles from their furry family members.

I hate to admit it, but since receiving the product, we have already had a chance to see how it works on stains.  Luckily for us, it did exactly what it was supposed to.

Protect-A-Bed’s AllerZip® Smooth Mattress Encasement provides your family with a clean and healthy sleep environment. The AllerZip Mattress Protector’s Patented BugLock® – three-sided zipper and AllerZip seal – gives you total protection against allergens (like dander, a concern for pet owners who sleep with furry family members), dust mites and bed bugs. The smooth surface is waterproof and stainproof, featuring Protect-A-Bed’s innovative Miracle Membrane® with Total Heat Transference Formula. Liquids and stains stay out, yet the protector remains breathable and comfortable.

The only thing I should say about the Protect-A-Bed AllerZip Smooth Mattress Encasement is that if you have a larger bed, you will need two people to put it on your mattress.    Since you shouldn’t have to take it off often, it isn’t anything that would be a problem for most.

Now for some good news for readers of Guessing All the Way.  One of my readers will win the exact AllerZip Smooth Mattress Encasement that I received for review in the size of your choice.  Since I know many of my readers love animals as much as me, I hope this is a giveaway you will all enjoy.

So far we have one dog (our little 50 lb. mud puppy) and a cat. We are actively looking for another dog though because our house feels empty with only one. Besides, with only one dog we still have some leg room in bed and that can’t happen. LOL!

I have two cats, and my daughter is allergic to cats. I should clarify that they are technically her cats. We didn’t know about the allergy.

I have a very odd looking pug, I believe he may be an alien, and a slightly ferral kitty. :-) They barely tolerate each other but both love to sleep with me.

This would be for my daughter and son-in-law who live in an apartment that has already been treated once for bed bugs – a Ton of work before and after for that ! Plus they have a new baby.
They have a King size bed.

We have a queen bed which usually holds my husband and I, two cats, and two dogs. It’s a tight fit and we are probably pretty crazy too :)
