Like the majority of the world, I have made the New Year’s Resolution on more than one occasion to eat healthier and take better care of myself. And, like most of the population, by this time of year, I have already struggled with keeping my resolution.
The truth is, it isn’t easy to make the changes necessary to stay on track at times. It is also a lot of pressure when you set your goals at the first of the year. However, this time around, I am doing really good!
I have managed to stick to my new routine of not eating fast foods and giving up my daily Route 44 Sonic Coke since January 1. If you guys knew me personally, you would be very impressed. I know my hubby is impressed with the money we are saving by me not getting a drink everyday.
I recently had a consult with my friend and Life Coach, Leslie Gail of New Life Focus. She helped me to see several things that I needed to change in order to reach my goals. One of the main things I took from the session was not to try to do everything at once. Basically, I realized that I needed to take things in steps so I didn’t become overwhelmed and give up.
For my next step, I am slowly adding in exercise. Since hitting the gym has never been my strong point, I am working on ways to get the exercise I need from home. One of the best ways I have found to do this is through dance.
I have always wanted to learn how to dance Hip Hop. You know the kind of dance I am talking about, the kind that requires you have a little rhythm. Unfortunately, I didn’t seem to come into this world equipped with the coordination gene. Therefore, I never quite got the whole “Hip Hop” thing, at least not in public.
I was so excited when I was sent The Hip Hop Dance Experience game by Ubisoft for the Wii. What better way for me to workout at home and only look like a fool in front of my family.
- Dance Party _ Dance with your friends/family
- Dance Battle – Dance against your friends/family
- Power Skooling – Step-by-step tutorials
- Dance Marathon – Dance the night away non-stop
The music included in the game is everything you would expect to get your Hip Hop groove on. The tracks include songs from TLC, Pit Bull, Nelly and Flo Rida. Of course with roughly 30 songs to select from, that only names a few of the artists.
My favorite part of The Hip Hop Dance Experience is that it offers you 3 different difficulty levels to choose from. I am currently on beginner level, but I am hoping it won’t be long before I am ready to step things up a bit.
If you made the New Year’s Resolution to get into shape, why not do it while having some fun. The Hip Hop Dance Experience game retails on Amazon for $29.99. If you need more reviews before you purchase, it has over 100 reviews on Amazon and the majority rate it at 5 stars.
Just as a side note, it is rated Teen for:
- Partial Nudity
- Suggestive Themes
- Lyrics
- Use Of Alcohol and Tobacco
If you have younger aged children, you may want to wait until the kiddos are in bed to do your dancing.

Great game.
I agree:) Thanks for commenting!
I totally agree Laurie – this is one game for after the kiddos are in bed. But a great workout for the adults.
