Age has done more than just add a few wrinkles to my face. It has also taught me with each passing year about the importance of certain things in my life.
For me, I have learned that:
- Mistakes are made so that I can grow from them.
- Forgiveness is one of the greatest gifts I can give to someone.
- Being kind makes me so much happier than being mean.
- Spending time alone is sometimes just as important as spending time with others.
The last of these things has been the one that took the longest to realize. However, now that I have, it is one of the most important to me.
A big part of my day is when I first get up in the morning. The kids are usually still asleep for about another 30 minutes and it gives me time to wake up, enjoy a tasty latte and read my favorite blogs. I was never one to jump right out of bed raring to go, so this routine has been exactly what I needed.
In case you aren’t familiar with how to make a latte in the comfort of your home, here is an easy recipe to follow. Of course, you can flavor it as you like. There are some great recipes for delicious flavored lattes on the The Breakfast Project hub.
To make your latte, you can heat 1 cup milk in a saucepan over medium-low heat, whisking quickly with a wire whisk to create foam. Meanwhile, brew your strong coffee (you’ll need about 1/2 cup). Pour the heated milk into a tall mug, holding back the foam with a spoon. Add strong brewed coffee and spoon a thin layer of foamed milk over beverage.
As the caffeine begins to hit my system and my eyes finally adjust to the morning light, I read several of my favorite blogs. I thought I would give them some Latte Love in honor of the National Milk Mustache “got milk?” campaign called, The Breakfast Project.
First, there is, A Nut in a Nutshell…Making Sense out of Nonsense. I love reading Liz’s blog because she is quirky and funny with a personality that shines through her writing. Whenever I need a quick laugh, she never lets me down.
Next, I enjoy checking out Sugar Loco….Crazy for Confections. I mean come on, who doesn’t love checking out the most delicious treats on earth? As a matter of fact, her latest post is on how to make a tasty Pumpkin Spice Latte at home! Check it out and you can have a milk mustache all your own.
Lastly, but only because 30 minutes goes really fast before the kids head out to find me, I read Travel Mamas. While I may not have the ability to travel the world quite yet, I hope to one day. Reading Travel Mamas allows me to find out the best places to go with kiddos as well as other great hot spots. Hey, I love living vicariously through people who are living it up.
“I wrote this review while participating in a campaign with TheMotherhood on behalf of The Breakfast Project. I received products to facilitate my post and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.”
