On-the-Go? Take MobiGo 2 by VTech

We are an on-the-go family with two younger aged children.  I am telling you this, because sometimes that means we need to bring along entertainment on our road trips.

There are a lot of different choices we could reach for during these times, but one of our personal favorites is the MobiGo 2 by VTech.   Our kids are no strangers to the fun offered by the MobiGo, as you can see from a post I wrote about the MobiGo when it first hit shelves.  Now they are busy exploring all the new options offered by the MobiGo 2.

MobiGo 2 by VTechThe MobiGo 2 has expanded from the original version by adding:

  • Motion Control
  • a Microphone- that allows for sound activated games
Certain things make electronic devices stand out to me as a parent.  One of the major things I look for when purchasing anything electronic is durability, especially for children.  We still have our first MobiGo, so that says a lot to me about how well it holds up.

MobiGo 2 by VTechThe MobiGo 2 has nice side grips that make it easy for little hands to hold onto, however the unit itself is rather heavy.  One of the reasons we like it for on-the-go is because they are usually sitting and don’t have to carry it around with them.  The weight of it could be an issue for the younger age kids (3-4yr).  The MobiGo 2 is designed for ages 3-8.

We love that we can purchase apps and games for the MobiGo 2 that are appropriate for either of our two children.  It is very convenient to load apps so that no matter which child wants to play, there is something ready to go.  Our kiddos favorites so far have been the Piggy Dash app and Cuckoo Clock app.  Although, our daughter loves Art Master that comes pre-loaded.
son playing MobiGo 2With the MobiGo 2, we can help our children to learn about vocabulary, math, problem solving and creativity.  We are looking forward to purchasing several games for our littlest one to help further her education while having fun as well.  The unit does come with a stylus, but I would encourage them to add a cord so that it is easier to keep up with.  Anyone who has children knows they are good at losing little things like that.

  1. I’m surprised that unit is heavy. Looks like a fun educational toy for kids and perfect for on-the-go
