Do the desserts that you prefer to eat change with the seasons? I would probably have to say that for me they do, however, one thing that never changes is the fact that COOL WHIP Whipped Topping goes great with any season.
Think about it, in the winter when I want something to warm me up, I go for a nice hot chocolate with COOL WHIP on top. In the summer when the hot chocolate has long been put away, the COOL WHIP still seems to find its way to my grocery list. The reason for that is because most of the desserts I enjoy go better with COOL WHIP on top. Actually in one of my favorite summer everyday treats, COOL WHIP is one of the main ingredients. The dessert is called a Millionaire Pie.
For those of you that don’t know what a Millionaire Pie is, don’t worry, I am going to tell you. When my sisters and I were growing up, my daddy’s favorite dessert was the Millionaire Pie. It worked out perfect for three little girls, because it was easy to make and we felt so special every time we got to surprise him with one. I think it got its name because it tasted like a million bucks, but I could be wrong?
Now that I am a mom, I have shared this same recipe with my children to make for their daddy. It is so sweet to watch them as they make the same thing I did as a little girl with just as much excitement. There is something about continuing traditions that makes me happy.
Here is the recipe for our favorite “everyday treat” that COOL WHIP makes happen.
Millionaire Pie:
2 Graham Cracker pie crust
1 Large tub of COOL WHIP Whipped Topping
1 can of Eagle Brand Condensed Milk
1/4 cup of lemon juice
1 Large sized can of crushed pineapple (drained)
Chopped pecans to your liking
To make the pie, you place all the ingredients in a bowl and mix them together. Once they are mixed, you add them to the graham cracker crusts and refrigerate until firm. Since my husband doesn’t like pecans, we make one crust with and one crust without pecans. If you do this method, just don’t add the pecans until after you have filled the first crust.
The Millionaire Pie is a perfect refreshing summer dessert. I hope you will enjoy it as much as our family does.
Tell me how COOL WHIP makes your “everyday treat” more delicious. I would love if you share your favorite dessert with us.
