What to expect when you’re expecting is a tough question to answer. I experienced two pregnancies and both were so different, that I could never have known what to expect. However, what to expect when you get three local Denver bloggers and 10 winners from each site together for an advanced screening of “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” is a lot easier to predict…..FUN for everyone!!
This past Monday we had the opportunity to get together with a great group of local Denver guys and gals for a viewing of the new movie hitting theaters tomorrow, “What to Expect When You’re Expecting”. The special screening was made possible by Centrum’s Specialist Prenatal line, which is pretty fitting with the movie’s title being what it is. The fun began for us before the movie even started as we were surrounded with some terrific company.
If you have ever experienced pregnancy or adoption, then you will be able to relate to the movie, “What to Expect When You’re Expecting”. Even if you have never experienced either, but enjoy a good laugh, then this movie is for you as well.
The movie, “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” follows the intertwined lives of 5 different women as they experience the miracle of childbirth in one form or another. It is truly hilarious to see how each experience is interpreted so differently by each lady. Which only goes to support my thoughts of you never know what to expect during pregnancy. You will love Elizabeth Banks as Wendy, the crazy pregnant lady that pees herself. Come on now, don’t pretend you’ve never been there.
Of course, you can’t rule out the presence of the men in our lives during this magical time. Oh yes, the wonderful men that put up with us during our pregnancy. If nothing else, the men in the movie will have you laughing out loud as they leave you to wonder what all our own husbands haven’t shared with us about our children while under their care. Chris Rock does a great job as Vic, the leader of the men’s stroller group. There were several times that the gal sitting next to me “snorted” as she got to laughing so hard.
The writers did a great job of making the movie relateable to most men and women while keeping it a film with humor, sadness, friendship and all around fun entertainment. I do have to say that I don’t know if it should have received a PG-13 rating. It had quite a bit of cursing, including the dropping of the “F” bomb. If you are taking your 13 year old to see it, just be prepared for the language.
What to Expect When You’re Expecting hits theaters on May 18th. Grab your significant other and head out for a fun date night that will have you reminiscing about your own birth story. Enjoy guys!
