I am always thankful when I come across companies that make it easy for me to eat healthy. I will be honest with you guys, I love food! If I’m being really truthful with you, the foods I love aren’t always the best for me. I know I should be more careful about what I put into my body, but let’s face it, sometimes the healthy foods don’t taste as great as the bad for you foods.
Okay, before you guys start chunking vegetables at me and chanting “eat healthy foods”, I should tell y’all that I am working on it. I have begun to realize with age that the healthier I eat, the better I feel. By trying to make smarter choices, I feel more energized throughout the day and am better able to keep up with my young ones.
Over the past six months or so, I have started to make subtle changes to my families diet. They are small, but I feel better knowing I am making the effort to teach healthier habits to my children. For example, I read a book that talked about switching out white sugar from your diet whenever possible. I decided after reading more to start purchasing Agave Nectar and use it instead. Since making the switch, my children haven’t notice it at all. They even use Agave Nectar instead of syrup for their pancakes.
Another change is that we eat yoghurt with breakfast at least several times a week. I mentioned earlier about companies that help me to eat healthier without even trying and Mountain High Yoghurt is one of them. My favorite thing about their yoghurt is that it is all natural and absolutely delicious. I appreciate that they offer my family a product that we can all enjoy.
Mountain High Yoghurt contains NO artificial sweeteners, flavors, colors, or starches. Best of all, it is also rbST-free, which means it contains NO artificial growth hormones. That is particularly important to me from a mom standpoint. I have recently begun to use the plain Mountain High Yoghurt in several of my recipes in place of other ingredients as well. See, I told you guys I was trying to be better about eating right.
With every change that I make towards a healthier diet, I realize that good food choices don’t always have to mean losing the flavor I love. Regardless of how big or small a change is when it comes to your health, any change is better than none at all.
What changes have you made to create a healthier lifestyle for yourself or your family?
I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Mountain High Yoghurt. I received a gift card to purchase yogurt, a product kit, and a promotional item to thank me for participating.
