In 2012, I want to ______ in order to _________. What would you say?
I asked myself the same question and it was hard for me to give an accurate answer. I am not one that generally makes New Year’s Resolutions, probably because I don’t think I have ever followed through with one I’ve made. What can I say, I don’t do well under pressure.
However, being asked the question made me decide to really think about what my hopes were for the new year. In a previous post I did, I told you all about wanting to open myself up more for friendships in 2012. It wasn’t a resolution persay, just something I would like to see for myself.
Upon taking the time to contemplate, I finally decided that this would be my true answer.
In 2012 I want to utilize my time more efficiently in order to gain more control over my life.
I know what you are thinking, “Wow what a concept!” It is something I really struggle with though.
My answer was a little different than my mothers answer, which was: In 2012 I want to win the lottery in order to buy a mountain home, a beach home and a New York flat.
After hearing her answer, I was ready to change mine. It sounded like a lot more fun.
All kidding aside, I have begun to evaluate my life to try and figure out where the majority of my stress comes from. The truth is, it pretty much begins and ends with me.
Now my task is to decide what changes I need to make to have the statement become a reality. I’m not going to have an easy road ahead of me, but by creating a plan, maybe I can make it happen.
