Time for RIO! In Theaters Now…Fandango Giveaway

Rio_PosterLiving in the plush Rio Jungle, Blu (Jesse Eisenberg) is a happy, get-down kind of baby bird. Unfortunately, that life is short lived. Tiny and unable to yet fly, Blu is cruelly taken out of the jungle he loves by poachers. His new life is to be spent in an exotic pet shop in a small town in Minnesota.

Luckily for Blu, his destination is altered when he is tossed out of the back of the truck that is heading to the pet store. Scared and lonely in a crate on the side of the road, Blu is rescued by a young girl named Linda. Linda makes a promise to care for the baby bird and does so for the next 15 years. During this time, Linda (Leslie Mann) and Blu become quite the pair. Together they are inseparable and the best of friends.

One day a man enters their book store and changes Linda and Blu’s life forever. An ornithologist from Brazil, he requests that Blu return with him in an effort to help repopulate Blu’s dwindling species, the Blue Macaw. After much thought and consideration, the decision is made for Blu and Linda to head to Brazil.

In a strange twist of fate, Blu finds himself again in the hands of poachers. This time he is accompanied by Jewel, (Anne Hathaway) the beautiful female macaw he was brought to repopulate with. As Blu fights to get back to the only home he knows with Linda, he encounters some unusual and colorful friends.

Rafael, (George Lopez) the brow beaten, father of 15 Toucan, Pedro (will.i.am) and Nico, (Jamie Foxx) a well-intentioned and silly duo, and Luiz, (Tracy Morgan) the slobbery yet very helpful bulldog make quite the team. Steadily being sought after by Nigel, a bitter and unsociable Cockatoo, (who by the way sometimes poops on people and blames it on pigeons) they will race to stay one step ahead of the poachers.

While working so hard to get back to his old life, Blu comes to the conclusion that home may be closer than he realizes.

The movie RIO is bright and colorful with amazing animation. The characters are engaging and provide you with laughter, sincerity, love and a look at the importance of preserving the beauty of the jungle. The creators of RIO give the film all the needed aspects to keep the audience entertained from beginning to end. Of course you wouldn’t expect anything less from the creators of “Ice Age”.
