I have two small children that love being carried around by mom and dad. Unfortunately, that is not always easy, especially when they are both wanting to be carried at the same time. That is why for activities outside of the home, it is nice to have an “extra set” of hands, so to speak. The Boba 2G Organic Carrier can come in very handy for those times.
Living where we do in Colorado, there are a lot of activities where a stroller just isn’t feasible. Hiking is one of those perfect examples. With the Boba 2G Organic Carrier, you simply throw it on and away you go. It is perfect for any kind of outing where you want your little ones to be safe and comfortable. Even better, you’ll be comfortable too.
Nap, Inc. is located right here in Boulder, CO. That is actually how the name Boba came to be. They took the first letters of Boulder Baby carrier and thus Boba was created. You can read their whole story at the Boba Carrier website.
The Boba Carrier has different collections, the Organic collection and the Classic collection. My favorite is of course the Organic collection. My two main reasons are:
- The Organic Collection is made with 100% certified organic cotton materials.
- The Organic Collection is made locally in the USA! A big plus in my book.
I don’t think I have ever told you guys that I had back surgery when I was 33. My back is still not very strong and causes me pain frequently. For that reason it is very hard for me to find any kind of carrier that I can wear comfortably.
When I put on the Boba, it did not seem to put as much strain on my back as the one we used when our kids were small. Actually with the carrier we used to use, my husband had to do most of the carrying. I wish we would have had the Boba when my children were younger.
The Boba Carrier can be worn on the front of your body or on the back. I was shown how to put the carrier on at a local baby show. The girl at the booth made it look so simple, however, I think it would take some time to get as good as she was. Placing a child in while it is on the front of you is fairly easy, however my husband did have to help me when it was on my back.
For the review, I used my 23 month old daughter to try it out. She actually didn’t mind being in the Boba, which tells me it is comfortable for the child as well. It will hold weight of between 15-45 lbs. That means technically, my 4 year old son could ride in it too.
I love the material of the Boba Organic Carrier. It is very soft and doesn’t feel like it would chafe any parts of a kiddos body. I have to be honest and tell you that my children did not use it enough to actually find out. Since they are older, they want to walk or be carried the old fashioned way.
The padding on the shoulders of the carrier make it sit comfortably on the person wearing it. I didn’t feel the pressure on my shoulders at all. It is truly one of the most comfortable carriers I have ever tried.
Two other features that I think make the Boba stand out are the footstraps and removable hood. We were hiking once with our son and it started pouring down rain. It would have been so great to have the hood to place over him while we looked for cover. To this day he doesn’t enjoy hiking much anymore. Poor little guy! The hood would also be ideal for when a small baby is sleeping.
