Your Blog as a Book: How fun is that?

Anyone that blogs, knows the time and energy that goes into your work. There are times that we post special content for our loved ones or possibly just share our thoughts with the world. Either way, no matter what you write about it, it means something to you.

Blogging is a great outlet for making new friends and journaling our lives for old friends. I love what I do and I never want to lose the content I have worked so hard to create.

Well, guess what! I won’t have to. I have been seeing on Blogger that they offered something called Blog2Print. I wasn’t exactly sure about trying it, so when I was offered a review opportunity; I thought it would be a great way to check it out.

blog2printThe process of using Blog2Print was very simple. When you first visit blog2print.com, you select which platform you use. You have the option of selecting Blogger, TypePad or WordPress. WordPress was just recently added as an enhanced feature. Good to know, because I am thinking about switching to WordPress at the beginning of the year.

Next, you enter your website’s address so that Blog2Print to access your content. In the following steps, you will select the date range you would like to print, cover type, and my favorite part, your dedication if you would like to have one.

I decided to dedicate my book to my family since they are so supportive of my work. Well, most of the time anywaysSmile You can also choose certain labels you would like Blog2Print to find. I chose to print any posts that had the label family or Wordless Wednesday in it. Then I clicked create book.

Within a few minutes, I had all my posts laid out in book form to look through. If you want to make changes once seeing your book, that is easy as well. You just click on remove posts or change cover. It will then allow you to de-select the posts you do not want to add. You can customize or add pages as you would like.

Another feature enhancement that I chose to select was the black cover color. I put a picture of my blog button on the cover, so it really stood out against the black. The only thing I was a little disappointed in was the picture on the front was very pixelated. I wish it would have let me know that the picture size would not work on the cover.

blog2print2The other problem with the book that I found was in my signature. For some reason, instead of showing the letters, it only showed the background color? I am still not sure how to correct that for future books, but I will check into it before I order the next one.

Overall, I love my Guessing All the Way… book that I created. It will be something special that I can keep for my myself and for my children to see one day. It is a great way to always remember all the fun and hard work that you have put into your blog.

If you are trying to think of a fun gift for yourself this year, I think this is a perfect idea! I would love to one day have all my posts saved in book form to look back on. As for cost, a full-color hard cover 20-page book costs $24.95 with .35 for each additional page. They have also added a black and white, soft cover option that lowers the price to $10.95 and .10 for each additional page.

blog2print3I think for myself, I will print separate books for my review posts in black and white. That will make it more affordable for me to print everything I write. As for my personal posts with my family pictures, etc. I will use the full color option. Either way you decide to go, it is really fun to see your words printed in a book.

Check out Blog2Print to see if you want to add it to your holiday wish list. You will also find shipping dates to make sure your present arrives in time for the holidays.

I received a credit to create my Blog2Print book. I received no other form of compensation. All opinions are 100% mine.
