No More High Fructose Corn Syrup!

As parents, we have all heard about how bad high fructose corn syrup is for us and our children. Despite this fact, we find it in so many products we feed our family. Now for some great news! Hunt’s Ketchup is no longer one of the those products.

Ketchup is a product that most children love. I know my son has been a ketchup dipper since he was just a little guy. Now I can feel good about knowing that there are only 5 simple ingredients in Hunt’s. No artificial ingredients or preservatives!

I understand that this new formula of Hunt’s Ketchup may not make my family appreciate me more, but I will feel good knowing I’m feeding them healthier. I made sloppy Joe’s the other night using the new and improved formula, and I couldn’t taste a difference. So if you have been a Hunt’s fan like my family, don’t worry, you will be the only one that knows the difference.

In honor of Hunt’s reformulated recipe, moms have a chance to win a family vacation. Now if I win that, they may appreciate me more.

To enter, all you do is submit a photo of you and your family achieving a “simple victory.” Be creative and have fun.

You can find out more about Hunt’s High Five Photo Fun sweepstakes at facebook.com/hunts.

Good luck! I hope you win the vacation of your dreams.

“I wrote this review while participating in a blog campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Hunt’s and received a ketchup sample to facilitate my candid review. Mom Central also sent me a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.”

    Hi Laurie
High fructose corn syrup – no good!
I used to buy the chocolate skim milk until I checked the label.
    Loaded with the no goods!
Anyway guess I just wanted to stop and say hi!

High fructose corn syrup has been the subject of a lot of attention and misinformation in the past few years, yet scientists continue to confirm that high fructose corn syrup is no different from other sweeteners. It is essentially the same as table sugar and honey, and has the same number of calories.

It is important to note that a sugar is a sugar whether from cane, beet, or corn; they are nutritionally the same and both are fine in moderation.

Thanks for the heads up, Laurie. This is definitely a product I will buy. I am actively checking labels and phasing out products that have HFCS as an ingredient.
It is surprising to find how much of it is in our food supply, even items that I wouldn't have even considered such as bread, for example.

THanks so much for posting this. It is so good to know that there are other people out there who realize the dangers of this product in our food!
