My Trusted Friend…..

Long before my 16th birthday, my father had already bought me my first car. Everyday, I dreamed about getting my driver’s license and could not wait to get behind the wheel of MY car. I had a beautiful 1985 White Toyota Corolla with 125,000 miles that my dad and I would drive around the neighborhood every night after dinner while I had my learner’s permit.

As soon as I turned 16, I finally gained my freedom. My Toyota and I became quite the team. We stayed together for over 3 years until I had to go college and leave my dear friend behind. We had so many memories together, from my first date to my first accident. We experienced a lifetime of memories in such a short time.
I also know another family that has a love affair with their Toyota. My in-laws currently own a 1996 Toyota Corolla with over 260,000 miles. Talk about reliability! Sure there is the regular maintenance that all car owners have to follow through with, but a car with 260,000 that still runs as well as the day they first got it…only with a Toyota.

Ever since I had to leave my trusted friend back home, I have only strayed from the Toyota name once. There is just something about a Toyota that I can’t do without . I don’t know, it could be my fascination with Marty McFly’s Toyota truck in Back to the Future, but Toyota is definitely my choice of vehicle.
After spending the last 11 years in the construction industry and being around a lot of vehicles, I can honestly say that I have never had any problems with my Toyota truck. No matter where I am, I still get random people asking me about my new 2010 Toyota Tundra. I cannot say enough about my new friend. It always gets my family and I where we need to go. Through rain or snow, I can always count on the reliability of the Toyota name.

Have you ever owned a Toyota? What did you think of it? I would love to hear stories of your experiences.

We had a Toyota Tacoma once, and it ran beautifully but was too small for my ex. We should have realized it before we bought it.

Hubby refuses to purchase a Toyota so can't say anything about them. He loves his Hondas, and our first Honda had over 300,000 miles on it and still ran. His first Honda when he was 16 had the same. I guess they have done us well in our 15 years of having them:)

My love affair has always been with Fords and I have had plenty. I wanted a Toyota crossover (can't remember the name now, but kind of like a car and minivan), but the guys in the dealership were jerks-refusing to deal with me on anything. (BTW, my husband wasn't with me because this was to be my "hauling the kids and stuff" car, and it was the one I really wanted!) I walked out of that dealership and never went back. That was nine years (almost 10) and 150,000 miles later and my Ford Escape has never had a problem. (Maybe I got lucky…)

I had a Toyota once. We had it from 1992 to 2000… and then it died. We're more of a Ford family….

I have a toyota corolla and love it! It's getting a little bit too "cozy" for us now that I've had our second baby. Our next vehicle will be a Toyota as well!
