Have you started making plans for the weekend yet? If not, I have a great suggestion for you and your family.
The movie Ramona and Beezus is in theatres this Friday, July 23rd. I had the honor of talking with the stars of the show, Selena Gomez and Joey King. I have to be honest, I was so impressed with both of these young ladies.
Most people have heard of Selena Gomez from her hit show, “Wizards of Waverly Place”. However, many of you may not be familiar with the young face of Joey King. You may be surprised to know that Joey has been acting since the tender age of four.
Joey has appeared in such shows as “The Suite Life of Zach and Cody”, and “Ghost Whisperer”. She actually has quite the impressive background. As for her personality, she is absolutely adorable and charming. I loved that she still sounds like a young girl full of innocence and kindness. I believe she will be a great asset to the movie Ramona and Beezus.
Selena Gomez impressed me because she seems to be the type of girl any mom could be proud of. She mentioned several times on the conference call that she and her mom are best friends. It was such a nice thing as a mom to see a young girl at the age of 17 say she was that close to her mom.
I actually asked her, “What do you think fostered the great relationship between you and your mom?” She responded by saying her mom has always been honest and open with her. She has shared her mistakes with Selena and always been there for her. That sounds like pretty good advice.
Selena is talented in more ways than one. Along with television and movies, she is a singer as well. The name of her pop rock band is Selena Gomez & the Scene. I hope that she continues to stay as down to earth and sweet as she seems to be now.
After talking with these two gals, I am even more excited to go and see Ramona and Beezus.
Is this a movie you want to see? Did any of you read Beverly Cleary as a kid?
* I was not compensated for this review. I did get to have the conference call to facilitate this review.

I would like to see the new Ramona movie. I used to read the Ramona books when I was like 11 or 12. I really enjoyed them
