Why did a Fireman, a phone call and a fall have my husband thinking I was having an affair? Well, it goes a little something like this…..
Yesterday morning I was going for my morning coke like I do almost every morning.
As I headed down my front outside steps carrying my daughter, I fell. Instantly my motherly instincts fear kicked in and I managed to keep my daughter from getting even a scratch. THANK GOD!!
I on the other hand scratched up both knees and broke the big toe on my left foot. As I lay on the ground writhing in pain, my 3 yr old son decided to call his daddy for help.
So when daddy answers the phone, all he hears is me moaning.
At that point, my son hangs up.
Of course, curious what happened daddy calls back immediately and hears the same thing, LOUD MOANS from his wife.
My son again says nothing and hangs up.
At this point, I am apparently moaning so loudly that the neighbor three houses down while using an electric spray-painter hears me and comes running up my driveway.
He announces who he is and that he is a firefighter. I guess that’s a good thing, except I am in my pajamas. So that was a little lot embarrassing.
Okay guys, pull your minds out of the gutter (which is exactly where my husband’s mind went in .01 seconds)
My neighbor was putting my flip-flop back on my foot and wanted to make sure he wasn’t hurting my toe.
So that’s how a fireman, a phone call and a fall almost cost me my marriage. LOL

That is pretty funny! Why is it that toes hurt so bad when you do anything to them? I bet as small as the injury is, it hurts pretty bad!
Oh Laurie-I just adore you! I am so sorry about your toe and it looks like it hurts. I love that you are able to make only a positive spin on this. I am not sure if you were more distressed or DH was! However, if that guy showed up every time any of us broke a toe I think we would all be on crutches! All joking aside, I am sure it hurts and can imagine how hard it is to carry around lil ones. Let me know if you need anything
