*CLOSED*Cook’s Ham Giveaway: Holiday Dinner is served!

This giveaways WINNER is: Jennifer T. WAY TO GO GIRL!! Now what time is dinner?? HeeHee

It’s about that time to start thinking about what’s for Christmas Dinner. I know in my family, we have turkey at Thanksgiving and ham at Christmas. Every year, we purchase a Cook’s Spiral Sliced Ham to enjoy for the holidays. We always discuss after the fact, “Why we don’t eat ham more often”? If you have never tried a Cook’s Ham, you are really missing out.

Cook’s Hams cook quickly and easily and make for a delicious meal. We always have enough for leftovers as well. Nothing like a yummy ham sandwich! I have tried other brands of ham that I cooked at home, but none have been as amazing and flavorful as a Cook’s Ham. This information was taken from their site to explain why Cook’s have the best tasting ham.

We slow-cure our hams with natural ingredients like pure cane sugar, real honey, brown sugar and maple syrup. For the perfect finish, we smoke our hams for hours using real hickory wood. This process gives our hams a taste that separates Cook’s hams from the rest.

If you visit their website, you can find wonderful
recipe ideas for creating the perfect holiday menu. Here is one I found for a great Glazed Ham:

Glazed Ham with Fruit Sauce

1 Cook’s® Bone-in Spiral Sliced Half Ham (about 9 pounds)

Fruit Sauce* 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
* 2 teaspoons butter
* 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
* 1/2 cup orange juice
* 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
* 2 small McIntosh or other cooking apples, peeled, finely chopped (about 2 cups)
* 1 small navel orange, peeled, finely chopped (about 1 cup)

1. Remove and discard glaze packet from ham or reserve for another use. Prepare and heat ham according to package directions, uncovering and spooning the Fruit Sauce over the ham when 30 minutes of the time remains. If desired, spoon sauce in pan over ham again after 15 minutes.
2. Fruit Sauce: Place sugar, butter, cinnamon, orange juice and lemon juice in medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over high heat; cook 1 minute, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to medium. Add apples and oranges. Simmer 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
3. Carve ham just before serving. Top each serving with some of the reserved Fruit Sauce from bottom of pan.

If that doesn’t get you thinking about having a delicious ham dinner, I don’t know what will! The good news is I am going to give you guys a chance at having your own Cook’s Ham on me! I have a $30 Gift Certificate to purchase a Cook’s Ham right in time for your holiday dinner. To enter here is what you need to do:

    First time I was in charge of pies for Thanksgiving I used a "premade" not frozen graham cracker crust for a pecan pie. It literally exploded in the oven and I had burnt oven smell in my house for weeks!

    Hmm.. worst holiday dinner moment…. Well, we usually have some sort of spaghetti sauce dish (i.e. gnocchi, ravioli, lasagna, etc.) and there was a pot of "normal" spaghetti sauce… or so I thought. My Uncle actually put squid in it. Everyone loves it.. I hate it… and unfortunately, I took a big bite of it before I realized what I was eating. :P
