Alright guys, here is another little thing you all don’t know about me. I HATE flying. We are leaving today to go visit my mother-in-law in Phoenix. We must be crazy, going from Colorado weather to Phoenix 150 degree weather…(OK, maybe I am exaggerating a little, 148 degree). How do you do the degree sign on a computer anyway. I must be having a CLUELESS moment.
So back to hating flying. I don’t like the feeling of not being in control of what happens to me and my family. (Do you think they would mind if I ask to co-pilot the plane?) My fear seems to have gotten worse since my kids came along. I didn’t even want my husband driving with our son, unless I was in the car for about the 1st year of his life. OK, I have changed my mind, please send me your shrinks number if you have a good one. I never thought I was all that crazy until I started writing all this stuff down. Boy, I am a lunatic. My husband has been right all along. Please don’t tell him that though, I think I still have him thinking he is the crazy one..heehee

Anyway, why on a plane do they give me a floating device? I don’t want a floating device, I don’t think it is going to help me near as much as say a PARACHUTE! I mean come on people work with me here. Maybe I will start bringing my own as a carry on. (I know it wouldn’t really help me either, but it is a little more comforting than a SEAT CUSHION)
Flight Attendant: Excuse me ma’am, will you be stowing that in the overhead compartment?
Me: Not unless you plan on prying it off my back!

I am with you girl! I HATE to fly…I am the girl at the bar drinking a few beers before my flight to take the "edge off." You are so not alone. We actually decided to drive to Florida this year (1,000 miles from home) because that's how much a hate to fly! After that trip, I'll be flying again (and I dread it)!
Yea, Theta Mom! I knew we were going to have stuff in common.
I haven't been flying in a very long time but I have to say I loved it, but I bet if I had my child on board with me it would be a whole different story.

Too funny! I haven't flew since I was pregnant with my oldest. He is now 14 and I was 5mo along. I got so stinking sick on a commuter flight..think I'd rather drive even tho they say flying is the safest form of tranportation. Where's my bubble? Can you hand me the computer before I get in it? Hope you have a safe and FUN trip.

You are much braver than me, I would NEVER even get on the plane! lol, no joke. We are driving from WA to NV next spring instead of flying. All because i'm too scared!

I am the same way about flying. On my last trip to Florida though they had tv's on the backs of the seats and that kept my mind off of the fact that we were flying. Have a great time!!!

We're heading off for a 2 week roadtrip on Saturday. We live in CA and are heading to Oregon and Idaho to see my mom and my MIL.

I'm the same way. I've always hated flying…which is funny because since I've moved to Colorado 13 years ago, I've flown back home to Jersey at least once a year. You think I would get used to it. Nope! And now that I'm a Mom…oh boy. We took our little one, Matthew, back to Jersey in June, he was 2 months old. My poor boyfriend….I was beyond paranoid. We had my little brother with me, and once we got settled I made a plan that my little brother would grab Matthew and escape first if the plane crashed…he's small and fast and old enough to make sure he is okay….they all thought I was crazy.
